This Märzen-style lager originated in Germany and has since been a respected member of the craft beer world. It was served at Oktoberfest in Munich until 1990 when its lighter-bodied pale cousin, Festbier, became the leading festival beer. Medium-bodied, deep copper colored with a rich malt character of baked bread and biscuit. It has a restrained bitterness and hop presence to let the complex malt flavors shine through. Prost!
