Wild Heart Brewing Announces DDH-214: A Veterans Day Collaboration for a Cause

This Veterans Day, Wild Heart Brewing is proud to introduce DDH-214, a special Double Dry-Hopped Hazy IPA created in partnership with Brewbods & Barbells and fellow veteran brewers from across our community. More than just a great beer, DDH-214 represents our commitment to giving back to those who have served.

A Beer with Purpose

DDH-214 gets its name from a clever play on the DD-214 form—the official document service members receive upon retiring or separating from active duty. This double hazy IPA is crafted using the Yakima Chief Hops Veterans Blend for 2025, with every pound purchased contributing $1 to Soldiers' Angels, a nonprofit supporting active duty military and veterans.

Here at home, Wild Heart Brewing will donate proceeds from DDH-214 sales to Fisher House of Charleston, providing crucial support for veterans receiving care through the VA and their families.

Building Community Through Brewing

The collaboration brought together veteran brewers from throughout our region, united by both their service backgrounds and their passion for craft beer. Jerry, our Assistant Brewer and 24-year veteran of the United States Air Force, captured the spirit of this project perfectly:

"We wanted to do a veterans beer as a way to give back. There are several veterans throughout the brewing community. It was an astounding yes once they found out that it was going to charity. It's that camaraderie that we had in the military is the same thing in the brewing community, and I thought it'd be a great opportunity to just get everybody together, network, and also do something for a good cause."

This collaboration exemplifies what makes the craft beer community special—the same brotherhood and sisterhood that defines military service lives on in our breweries, taprooms, and the connections we forge over a shared pint.
